A Link to the Past Update

Well, Ganon is officially dead.

I beat the game!

I have to say, the final battle with Ganon is probably one of the most epic final bosses I've battled.  And that's saying a lot for a 2D game, seeing as the bosses aren't usually as... viewable?  I guess?  in 2D games.

It took me several tries, but in the end wasn't really too hard.  And my final death count for the game is....

Yep.  214.

That's a lot.

That is a legitimate screenshot taken right from my computer, about 10 minutes before I posted this update.

Oh, if you're wondering how I'm playing this on my computer, I'm using an emulator, but it's legal.  Don't worry, I got it legally.  There's this cool place my friend showed me where you can get ROMs for an emulator legally.  You still have to pay for them and whatnot.  Now that I know it's coming to Wii U, I'll probably get it for that, too, but I didn't want to wait that long.  So I bought it sooner.  :P

Anyway, remember my friend who I showed Zelda to recently?  That I mentioned earlier?  Well, he's already quit.  :(

Yeah, he just said to me one day "I think I'm gonna uninstall Zelda.  I think it's slowing down my computer."  And I'm like, "You DO know it's a 16-bit game, right?"  And he's like, "Yeah, but still."

I'm almost 100% sure it's because he couldn't beat Moldorm, but whatever.  I guess Zelda's just not for everyone.

Speaking of friends, my other friend, who's liked Zelda for a long time (as far as I know, I think before I knew about it) just had his birthday recently.  He's my only friend who likes Zelda.  Unless my uncle counts, but... whatever.

Anyway, (gosh, I can get off-topic) as I said, my friend had a birthday recently, and he got a 3DS with OoT 3D.  And my birthday's coming up in June, and I'm going to get a 3DS and OoT too.

So I plan on having him over or something, and we're gonna race!  It's just some idea I had...  We'll see who can beat the Deku tree first, and then who can become Adult Link first, and who can beat the Water Temple first, etc.

So I'm really looking forward to my birthday.

On another note, I'm out of school now!  I was REALLY lucky to exempt all of my exams.  To exempt you need an A in the class, and in 2 classes I had an 89.5, but thankfully, they grade on the curve.  So I'm out a week early.  :D

And yesterday I started to play Skyward Sword on Hero Mode, which for some reason I'd never done before, and now I just beat the Earth Temple and had to watch the sad cutscene where Zelda and Impa leave poor Link behind.  There are three parts in this game that make me really sad, and that's one of them.  The others are when Zelda seals herself in the crystal, again leaving Link behind, and the third is when Fi has to go, AGAIN leaving Link behind.  See a connection?  XD

Alright, so... this is my first time playing Skyward Sword on the huge HD TV that we got for Christmas, and it's really cool because the TV's on an arm thing attached to the wall where you can adjust how high it is and how close it-- never mind.  It's hard to explain.

My point is, it's really fun playing Skyward Sword on a big TV.  With lots of room to swing your "sword".  :)

That's all I have to say for now... if it weren't for ALttP, I probably wouldn't have made this post today, but I beat it, and I felt the urge to post something.

Happy Zelda-ing!

...That didn't come out right...

Happy.... er.... video gaming?  Yeah... whatever.  Bye!  :)

  1. Congratulations on beating the game! 214 times is really a lot.
That death count is never reached in the recent games anymore xD
Too bad that your friend quit playing Zelda, he has no idea what he's missing.
And nice that you get an 3DS for your birthday, ALTTP 2 comes soon so I can't wait to hear more about it. (Even though I've never played ALTTP, I've beaten only one 2D game, how terrible of me xD)
Those cutscenes are really sad indeed, And I don't particularly like the Earth temple cutscene, were Impa gets mad at Link for being late (I didn't went through the entire Earth temple to hear that, maybe she should do it herself next time) -.- At least she got nicer to Link after that xD

    1. Haha, thanks. It's a pretty hard game. Surprisingly, most of those deaths were only in the first three dungeons. I didn't die much in the following 7. And may I ask, which 2D game have you beaten? Have you started any others?

As for the Earth Temple cutscene, I have mixed feelings. I guess I kind of like it since it stirs emotions in me. It makes me feel like I've failed to protect Zelda D:

And the first time I played it, I just kept thinking "But.... I.... I was so.... close......."

      Yeah. XD

    2. I´ve beaten Minish cap ^^ I bought the game a few months ago for my gameboy advance, I loved it ^^
I own LOZ and AOL, well not the real ones. I have a collectors edition disc. I got it for my tenth birthday, but it disappeared somehow, and I only found it back recently.
However when I tried to play it, it broke in my gamecube. So I bought a new one not too long ago. I did finally beat MM over Spring break, but not LOZ and AOL.
So I really want to play them this Summer, when I finally have loads of time.
You're so lucky that you're out so early. I still have 4 weeks left =(

    3. You should try to get ALttP on the Virtual Console for your Wii. If I remember correctly, it's 10 dollars? I think. You'll definitely find that easier/more fun than the first two. Well, at least I think you will. Most people do.

That's too bad, your school sounds like it gets out pretty late! Mine used to get out 3 weeks later than it does now, but they changed it some time back...

  2. Congrats on beating A Link to the Past!! I haven't beaten it yet. I'm not even halfway done yet actually :) But I am still excited for ALttP 2!!! I will definitely play ALttP before the sequel comes out :)

That's awesome that you're getting a 3DS for your birthday! I would LOVE to do a race of Ocarina of Time with one of my friends, but, sadly, none of them play Zelda. Before I moved a couple years ago, I had two guy friends that love Zelda like me, and we always played together. But I only moved like fifteen minutes away from them, so I guess we could get together and do it in the summer :D

And, yes, those cutscenes are truly sad. I cried so much when Zelda sealed herself away. I guess it was really emotional for me :'( But that's one of the reasons why I love Skyward Sword so much. It's not dull or boring. I loved that it sparked so many emotions in me. At times I was sad, and at other times a huge adrenaline rush ran through me (*cough cough* the Silent Realms). Gosh, I don't think I've ever been more terrified in my life. XD

And, oh my gosh, you are so lucky that you got of school a week early!!! My school doesn't do that, sadly :( I still have two weeks left of school :( Except, the last week doesn't really count, because it's pretty much yearbook signing and stuff :) I'm really excited for summer to start, though! Because then I can play Zelda to my heart's content :)

    1. Yeah, you should definitely play it. It's a really fun game.

Good luck getting with your old friends! I hope you can try the racing thing too! The more I think about it, the more fun it seems.... the idea of playing Ocarina of Time.... competitively.... :D

Yeah, I guess I'm pretty lucky. Most of my other friends are taking exams right now. XD

I'm SO glad summer's here now. Good luck getting through the last bit of school; it was pretty tough for me. But now I can have fun at home! ;)

    2. Haha thanks :) I only have about four more days left of school!!! I have tomorrow, then Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but I don't think any of them are normal school days. I know that we only go to school for like an hour on Thursday, which is stupid, in my opinion. (We get Monday off because of Memorial's Day). What grade are you in? Unless that's too personal :) I'm in eighth grade. I'll be in ninth grade next year.

As soon as summer starts, I'm literally going to play Zelda all day. I haven't had much time lately to do anything, because I've been studying for exams and such. But as soon as school ends, I'm definitely going to play some Zelda!!

I'm disappointed that Nintendo is not doing a "real" E3 this year. They're just doing small meetings and stuff :( But I really really really really really REALLY hope they show some footage of Zelda Wii U!!!!!! I think it's time that we get some footage and gameplay of it. I cannot wait to see what it will be like! I don't care what it is or what it looks like or anything really; I just wanna see Zelda Wii U :D And some more details about Wind Waker HD and ALttP 2 would be cool, too :) But I am desperate for Zelda Wii U details :) And some Super Smash Bros. would be nice as well :D and, really, anything would be nice, as long as I see some Zelda Wii U. :) Sorry, I'm just really anxious and excited for Zelda Wii U!! :)

I'm sorry, that was really long. I just had to get some thoughts out of my head since none of my friends play Zelda and they don't really care about Nintendo and such. So I needed to rant a little bit to someone who does like Zelda and Nintendo. :) So, thanks.

      Have a great summer!!!!!!! :D

    4. I'm fine with them not doing E3, as long as we get more than we did last year. Last year, they showed almost nothing. D:

I'm glad that they now have the Nintendo Direct during E3 so I can watch that. I'm fine, as long as they show lots of cool stuff. I really, really, really want to see some Zelda Wii U too, because I hardly have any games for my poor Wii U. And I need to play some! :P

Don't worry, you can get as many thoughts out of your head as you want here. After all, that's pretty much all I do in my posts. :P

You have a great summer too! When you get out, that is. :)

    5. Haha, thanks!!

Yeah, I have three games for my Wii U. I know, sad :( I have Nintendo Land, which came with my Deluxe Edition Wii U, New Super Mario Bros. U, and Fifa Soccer 2013 :)

Yeah, I really hope they show a lot of cool stuff during the Nintendo Directs and such. I am desperate for more games!! And more Zelda :)

Only three days left of school for me!!! :D

      Happy..... Summer, I guess :)
