An Error in Hyrule Historia?!?! *GASP*

And it's more than a typo.  It's an error with a picture.

When they were illustrating the six sages of Ocarina of Time with their medallions, basically, they reversed two medallions.

Look here:

(Sorry for the bad lighting& camera angle, it was taken from my laptop's camera)

BUT SEE???  Darunia is next to the Spirit Medallion and Nabooru is next to the Fire!  D:

See these:

And now look again:

I took this one from my phone!  :/

IT'S JUST... not... right...

... *Phew*  Okay, now that I'm done with that rant, I'll get on to saying: it's really not that bad of a mistake.  It would be worse if they said Nabooru was the fire sage in the paragraph above (which they don't).  They get the text right, just not the picture.  What's a little disappointing is that they had this error in the Japanese version, too, which came out quite a while ago.  They couldn't even manage to fix this for the English version?  I mean, I know they were trying to keep it as original to the Japanese version as possible, but they couldn't even fix a mistake?

But seriously, that's really not too bad.  I probably seem quite bipolar right now...  But other than that mistake, the book has been great so far.  No other flaws.   (I say so far because I'm only a third of the way through it.  And I've read for about 3 hours now.)  EDIT: Turns out there is another mistake, which can be found here.  Also, we've seen this before with Zelda; look at the back of the box of Ocarina of Time:

See the white bullet points?  Look at the first one, on the first line.  It says "enivironments" instead of "environments".  (enivironments)

So yeah.  My point is, it's not that big of a deal, despite what my original rant may have implied.

Anyway, Hyrule Historia's really good.  I'm enjoying it a lot, so don't let this stop you from getting it.  (Like it would.)

BTW, if you want to see for yourself, that's on page 89.  I hope you enjoy the book too, if you already have it.  If not, then good luck getting it soon!  You'll be pleased when you do.

That's all for now.  Bye!  :)

  1. heyo! It's been a while since I commented (I was grounded :'-( ) but I'm back now!! yaaay!
Anyway, they might have meant for Nabooru to be the fire sage, but then switched because it made A LOT more sense. ugh! I wonder if my copy has come in the mail yet. I'm getting tired of waiting while everyone else already has theirs!!!

    1. Oooh, it's still not here? Well, that stinks. Hopefully it will be here by tomorrow.

  2. I noticed your mentioning of Nabooru and Darunia's colors being altered. Those are actually the original concept art for the characters, so that bit is not an error at all - just the medallion placements.

There are also several other errors in the Hyrule Historia. You could try to find them, or search the web for those who found them already.

    1. Well, about that first bit... OK, I didn't know that. Maybe they were mistaken because it would look really weird for the medallions to be different colors from their people.... Oh well.

And I found a few more, like for example, there is one that has something to do with the Tower of Spirits in ST, or something like that.... I just hadn't finished reading the book when I made this post, and I didn't feel like making another one, partly because they weren't significant at all, and partly because this one was already so.... weird....
