Wind Waker in HD!?!?!?!?

Wow.  This is a totally unexpected post for me, too, but I just found out from Nintendo Direct that they are re-releasing Wind Waker for Wii U this fall!  And it's not just better quality graphics, but they've totally redone the graphics, with new textures and EVERYTHING!!!!!  (Kind of like OoT vs. OoT 3D).  I am really excited about this!  It's too bad that I'll have to buy it again, since I already have Wind Waker.  I just hope it doesn't cost too much, as I already have a list of about 10 games that I want for Wii U, that they also just announced at Nintendo Direct.

If you haven't seen it yet, you can check out the entire video here:
(It's about 35 minutes long.)

If you just want to see the part about Zelda, go here:

Anyway, that's what's happening with Zelda this year!  Eiji Aonuma also stated that for Zelda Wii U, they are going to "rethink the conventions of Zelda".  In the video, it talked about rethinking the concepts of "playing alone", and "completing dungeons in a certain order".  This may mean that there will be a multiplayer aspect in the next Zelda game, and also that it may be less linear.  I hope that they don't totally get rid of the order of dungeons, but maybe do something like in Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker, where two of the dungeons are reversable (Shadow Temple and Spirit Temple are switchable in OoT, and Earth Temple and Wind Temple are switchable in WW).  As for the multiplayer aspect, I really hope they don't overdo it.  Like, I'm fine with a little bit of social interaction, like maybe leaving comments with each other, but not full out multiplayer, where you are actually battling a boss with another person.  I kind of like the whole idea where the hero is alone.  And that's all the Zelda news.  As for other games, they've also announced a new Mario Kart (used to be my favorite series, before I knew about Zelda), a new Super Smash Bros. (Yay, Link!) Pikmin 3 (which we already knew about.  I've never tried Pikmin, but I might just pick this one up when it comes out.), a new game featuring Yoshi (it looks a lot like Kirby: Epic Yarn), and games called Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2, both which I've never heard of.

On a darker note, this morning the company THQ officially went out of business.  They are no more.  Perhaps you've heard of them.  They've made Darksiders, Puss in Boots, Company of Heroes (the highest rated strategy game of all time), and some others.  I'll be most sad to see Darksiders to go, as it is a lot like Zelda.  However, there is still some hope, as they are selling some of their divisions to other game companies.  Vigil Games made Darksiders, but it hasn't been sold yet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  I will be disappointed if they don't make a Darksiders 3.

Anyway, that's all for today.  I can't wait for Hyrule Historia, Wind Waker, and yes, Zelda Wii U, even though it is a LONG way off.

See you sometime later this week.  Bye!  :D

  1. I love the graphics for WW HD. they are so crisp and realistic...well, as realistic as the Toon Link world can get. On another note, a few days ago, my mom checked for when my copy of Hyrule Historia is gonna get here. Febuary 4-7. D-: I have to wait like another week and some days )-": but if I have waited months, I guess a few days won't hurt so bad...I'm just so excited! SQUEEE!!!! (that was my happy noise ;-P)
